Club Penguin Blog: Safer Internet Day - Take the Pledge, Play the Game!

Here's a message from Daffodaily5:
Hiya!
It's been a great Safer Internet Day so far! We had an epic online party earlier to celebrate this important day! It was brill to see so many of you willing to raise awareness about using the internet safely and with respect. Which reminded me of our Online Safety Pledge! The pledge is a great way for you to make a promise that you'll work with Club Penguin to help make the internet an amazing place for everyone!
You can download the pledge by clicking here! Just print it out, fill in the blanks and share it with your parents and your pals! But don't forget, It Starts With You!
Also, the team has put together a mega printable board game for you to play with your friends and parents, to learn more about online safety whilst having loads-a fun! That's what we're all about, after all! Currrently this is only available to players in the UK, but hopefully we'll roll it out to the rest of you soon. You can download the game here!
Plus you can still take the safety quiz by clicking the clipboard icon at the top right of the screen when you're logged into CP. As I write this, 537667 people have passed it! WOWZERS! Don't forget, everyone that passes the quiz gets the awesome safety hoodie item! :)
Byeee!

Congratulations to all of the winners of the Safety Quiz!

Sounds great! Stay cool and speak up, everyone. :)

Club Penguin's Online Safety Quiz

When you first log into Club Penguin, you probably noticed that new little icon in the upper-right hand corner. It looks like a clipboard with a moderator badge on it. Click on it, and you'll get this screen.
Test your online safety knowledge in this quiz and earn a FREE online safety sweater for your penguin.

Click on "Safety Quiz" to continue.

I won't share on my site how to pass the quiz, as it is, after all, a quiz. However, after you finish, you get this message.
Congratulations!

You really know your stuff about online safety and how to be cool, be heard, and be safe!

Click on "Collect Reward", then "Done" to continue.

Great work, everyone!

BE COOL
We'll always respect others online and never post anything could be hurtful to someone else.

BE HEARD
If we see anything online that worries us, we'll speak up and tell a parent or trusted adult.

BE SAFE
We'll protect our personal information online and won't share private personal details, like where we live or go to school.

If you go to the Safety section of Club Penguin's site, they have a bunch of really good stuff on online safety.
Since the beginning, Club Penguin's made online safety a priority - we believe kids should know how to stay safe online.

You can go to their Safety page to watch the video, featuring Una from The Saturdays!
Online can be an amazing place is everyone's respectful, speaks up, and stays saef.

Be Cool Online -- Respect others
  • Treat people how you want to be treated
  • Avoid words that might offend others
  • If you wouldn't say it out loud, don't say it online
Club Penguin is Committed to Safety
  • There are filters to help block inappropriate chat
  • There are tons of ways to express yourself
Just like in the real world, your child's online experiences are better when you're aware, curious, and engaged.

Be Aware
  • Do you know all the sites your child visits?
  • Make sure you're comfortable with where your child goes online
  • In your home, designate a common area for your computer
