Club Penguin Updates Global Citizenship Page with Information on Coins For Change 2013

Club Penguin does a TON of things throughout the year, but probably one the kindest, most awesome things that they do is an annual event they like to call Coins For Change.

Coins For Change is where Club Penguin players around the world donate virtual coins to various causes, and the amount of coins spent on each cause decides how Club Penguin splits a HUGE donation to the causes that you gave to with your own virtual coins.

Club Penguin updated their Global Citizenship page recently, and I wanted to be sure I got the full scoop.

Change the world with Club Penguin!
This holiday, let's change the world and have fun doing it. Join Club Penguin for the seventh annual Coins For Change fundraiser, because we believe every penguin can make a difference.

Starting December 19, players can log in, play online games, and donate virtual coins in Club Penguin to help real-world projects and charities around the globe. They'll help us support 10  projects sharinga  $1M donation that provides medical help, builds safe places, and protects the earth. There efforts range from constructing school libraries and a hospital wing, to protecting the nesting grounds of penguins.

We're also encouraging players to take actions and make a different in their community.

Starting December 19, players can log in, play online games, and donate virtual coins in Club Penguin!

Take action in the community!
In the U.S., players can donate toys to Toys for Toys! On December 7 and 8, they can join Radio Disney in their Festival of Giving throughout the U.S. After December 8, they can visit the Toys for Tots' website to find drop-off locations in their area.

Outside the U.S., players can donate to a charitable organization in their local communities.

Join the Club Penguin Coins For Change Toy Drive and help us make a difference.

I pledge to help others by donating...
  • 1 Toy
  • 2 Toys
  • 3 Toys
  • 4 Toys
  • 5 Toys
Provide Medical Help
Haiti, Rwanda, and Ecuador
  • Supply clean water for kids in Ecuador
  • Grive toys and activity packages to sick kids in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Haiti, the United Kingdom, and the United States
  • Build a new hospital wing to keep kids and mothers healthy in Malawi
Protect the Earth
Columbia and Indonesia
  • Save fragile nestings grounds for penguins
  • Protect habitats in Africa, Asia, South America
  • Safeguard endangered animals like Snow Leopards, Laiga Antelopes, Lions, and others
Build Safe Places
Sierra Leone, Ecuador, and Afghanistan
  • Construct an elementary school and support education programs for women & children in Africa
  • Provide libraries for kids in Ethiopia and India
  • Provide toys and warm coats for kids in the United States

As you can see, Coins For Change is a really, really worthy cause. Donate as many coins as you can starting December 19! :)

Penguin of the Week: Jericv

Congratulations to the newest Penguin of the Week: Jericv!
Check out what Daffodaily5 has to say about it:
Thanks for nominating your buddies to be Penguin of the Week, everyone! There were soooo many to choose from this week but finally I selected Jericv, who has been playing Club Penguin since 2006! Wow!
In that time they’ve mastered Pizzatron 3000, completed all EPF missions and still finds time to give loads of tours and be a brill friend to everyone! They also enjoy telling loads of jokes, just like me! You can use this "Official" Daffo-Joke; “A book just fell on my head… I only have my-shelf to blame!” :D
A huge congratulations to Jericv! Keep on waddlin'. :)

Club Penguin Times issue #424 - Puffles Rescued!

PUFFLES RESCUED
Pets happy to be safe at home again!

By Aunt Arctic -- Great news! All of our puffles have returned from the wilds and are safe and sound. The crisis is over! I want to extend a huge thank you to the EPF and the volunteers that ventured into the wilderness to save our puffles.

Together, you rescued puffles from their mind-controlled digging and stopped Herbert's horrible plan. It means a great deal to me and all of us on the island! Now it is time to give our puffles a squeeze. Let them know how appreciated they are. I'm even thinking of adopting anotehr one!

I'm glad we were able to help them when they needed it, since the puffles have given us so much joy over the years. Take good care of your puffles and let's all look forward to a happy Holidays and new year!

 NEWSFLASH
River access closed due to safety concerns. Wilderness no longer accessible.

Club Penguin Blog: Coins For Change Begins Soon!

Check out this blog post from Polo Field:
Hello Penguins!
Every year, millions of penguins donate billions of virtual coins to show their support for real world causes. I hope you've all been saving up those coins... because Coins for Change is almost here!
This year, we're doing things a bit different. We started thinking about how the Holidays bring people together... when you work together you can make big things happen! We've decided that instead of 3 separate donation boxes, why not work together to support 10 projects! As you donate virtual coins, you'll help us unlock each project.
Here's a sneak peek of what the donation meter will look like:
I can't wait to get this started! I know we can all work together and make this happen.
Whaddya think? How many coins have you saved up so far?
I can't wait for Coins For Change! It's such a great thing to do for people all across the world, whether you donate or not. :)

Keep on saving your coins!

Club Penguin Blog: News From the Team UK!

Check out this blog post from Daffodaily5:
Hiya!
Do you sometimes wonder what happens in the UK Club Penguin office in Brighton? As well as working super hard looking after Club Penguin, we also do other stuff to help make the world a better place! So I thought it would be a brill idea to share some of the cool things that the UK team's been up to recently!
Love In A Box
Each year, when the festive season is approaching, the whole team goes on an outing to purchase lots of small gifts and supplies, which we then put in empty shoe boxes and send out to deprived children in Europe. This year’s event was a huge success as we filled and wrapped 53 boxes!! Everybody had such a brill time knowing we were donating to such a worthy cause. You can see my box below!
Donating Blood
5 brave members of the team did a very honourable deed last week and donated blood! I went too, even though I don’t like needles (I hope you're proud of me)! It was totally worth it though, because as well as us potentially saving a person’s life, they gave us tea and BISCUITS afterwards! :D
Preparing for Christmas
Tree? CHECK! Decorations? CHECK! A giant fake snow machine??? I wish! ;)  To get us all in the seasonal sprit, the whole team gathered to decorate the office in twinkling lights, tinsel and other sparkly things! Not long till Christmas now, right?
That’s all for this month’s UK news, I hope you enjoyed it! I'll do another update next month. :)
I love this post! I love to hear more about the offices.

Thanks Trainman1405

My Thoughts: The Awesome Official Guide to Club Penguin

Hi guys! Today I (Mountain717) thought that I would make a post Woddylan style! Here is My Thoughts: The Awesome Official guide to CP!
Well, first of all I think it is a great place for CP info. But one thing I don't like is that they put the News Room in the What's New? section.

Then after a year or so it still was not there. So I E-Mailed Club Penguin Support. And they said something like it was just a good idea. But aside from that, it is a good book.
